We have developed a mobile application for a reputed client providing logistics and carrier service in Victoria, Australia. Since establishment, the company has received good reputation from its clients across the world due to its service quality and safety measures. Many of Australia's biggest companies have partnered with our client’s organization for transportation of milk, bulk chemicals and certain other hazardous goods.

Challenges

The client was desperately in need of a mobile app which would assist him to track their driver behaviour as well let him to know the details of the consignment delivered. Their requirement was to have a web client with which they can monitor all real time activities of vehicle drivers such as rest, work, goods loading and unloading time, etc. In addition to the above, they preferred to have their existing ERP system integrated for tracking the driver’s details, goods pick-up and delivery details. They asked us to develop the mobile app in a user friendly way so that even drivers who don’t know to use it can make the best use of it. They wanted the mobile app to work in different platform and devices.

What we did

We developed a mobile application using Mono framework that supported both Android and iPhone. Our mobile app developer team has built a web client application to receive updates from the ERP system and the Mobile app.This web application serves as an interface between the newly created Mobile app and their existing ERP servers. The web client admin can handle information to the drivers, PDF documents that needs to be displayed in the mobile app, news feeds, pre-trip questions to the drivers, etc.

The web client has a reporting module where they can view the leisure and work details, work violation, goods movement. The mobile application has section to view the driver activity. In case a driver break the law or fails to follow the driving patterns, it can also be tracked. The driver himself can login and update the goods pickup and delivery details and he can also view location / route with the interface of the map. in addition, they also have facilities to view various other instructions uploaded in the PDF from web client. We have seamlessly integrated the mobile app with GPS and made vehicle tracking easy for the client. Automatic detection of check-in and check-out has enabled for easy use of application.
